The caretakers of black hair.

Our hairstyles are just as diverse as we are a people.  From Braided Plats, Afros, and Jheri Curls, to Fades, Locs, and straight European look.  Even without hair, whether due to illness, or by choice, we still look good.

We wear styles that have launched a thousand conversations. And very few topics have drawn out such passion and anger among black women.  The Versatility, and ability to come back after perms, dyeing and straightening combs has baffled people of other hair persuasions for eons.

Extensions, weaves, and any other add-on can be costly but worth it.  If the maintenance can be kept up.  And with the surge of women going “Natural”, there’s still money to be made.

Hair, products, and black hair utensils, is a $30 billion a year industry. and oddly enough, the Black Hair Industry is mostly White and Asian dominated.  Dark and Lovely, African Pride, anything by Soft Sheen Carson, Sulfur 8, just to name a few, are all premier companies making millions of dollars a year that are owned and operated by non-blacks.
